Racing to Save Lives - Kidney Health Australia
Racing to Save Lives - The World's First Big Red BBQ Trackside is a new partnership between Kidney Health Australia and Sydney Turf Club, launching on Tooheys New Golden Rose Day, Saturday 28 August at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse.
The announcement is being hosted by Richard Callander and attended by our incredible Kidney Kids and a team of Olympian and Paralympian race goers (including Nicole Kullen Equestrian Paralympian, Deborah Watson Olympic Gold Medalist, Taryn Woods Olympic Gold Medalist and Kirsten Thomson Olympic Silver Medalist among others). http://www.kidney.org.au/NewsEvents/BIGREDBBQ/tabid/771/Default.aspx
The launch is to generate awareness for Kidney Health Australia’s national fundraiser the Big Red BBQ www.bigredbbq.com.au that aims to save lives and reduce the need for dialysis.
The campaign is geared to encourage all Australians to register to host a Big Red BBQ. Sydney Turf Club will host its own Big Red BBQ for the general public on Saturday 30 October at Rosehill Gardens which coincides with the Derby Day meeting in Victoria.
Kidney disease has no warning signs which means that a person can lose up to 90% of their kidney function before they realise they are sick. Sydney Turf Club supports the Big Red BBQ, to bring families, friends and businesses together to raise awareness about kidney disease and encourage all Australians to get tested by their GP.
