New updated information and resources from the NSWNA on providing a reasonable workload for nurses - information updated in June 2009.


To assist in providing a sustainable health system for the people of NSW that not only meets present health needs but also plans for the health needs of the future, reasonable workloads for nurses are required.

The below resources will assist members and branches to address Reasonable Workloads issues in their workplaces.

This kit consists of:

 - A 34 page PDF guide that you can download and print explaining what Workloads issues are; how to raise a Resonable Workload Issue at the ward or unit level; What are some of the solutions; What is a Resonable Workloads Committee and how the resonable workloads process works.

- A sample Meeting Agenda in MS Word that you can use at meetings of your Resonable Workloads Committee.

- A sample Minutes Form in MS Word on outlining issues, recommendations and outcomes.

- A sample Notification of Dispute/Grievance Form in MS Word on how to document grievances.

- A sample Workloads Data Collection Tool Form in MS Word on how to collect data on Workloads issues.
