Education and research scholarships available to nurses through the Edith Cavell Trust.
The Edith Cavell Trust was established in 1992 to support nursing research and nurse education, now and for future generations of nurses.

2009 Edith Cavell Trust Scholarship Applicants, please note:
As outlined in the Edith Cavell Trust Scholarship application form you are required to complete the following:- Application Summary Form;
- Attach two written professional references;
- Budget details;
- Signature of applicant and the date.
The applicant must be a financial member of the NSW Nurses' Association (or student at an aprooved University, Institution or organisation). In addition please complete on your application form your membership number and date of joining the Association.
Proof of enrolment/registration is only required if you are successful in obtaining a scholarship and cheques will not be issued until such evidence is provided.
If you do not meet the criteria of the application form it cannot be accepted by the Edith Cavell Trust Selection Committee.
Please complete and return by close of business 31st July 2010, for current applications (opening 1st May 2010).
The scholarship will be for the following academic year; Example: 2010 Scholarship is to be undertaken in the academic year of 2011.
You will be notified of the Trusts' decision by 31st October 2010.

The Edith Cavell Trust Scholarships are available to full-time nurses, undergraduate nursing students and nurses undertaking further studies to enhance their careers. Members and Associate Members of the NSW Nurses' Association are eligible to apply. Scholarships are awarded on a needs or merit basis. The concept of establishing a fund for the provision of scholarships for registered nurses in NSW and the ACT to undertake advanced studies in Australia, or more particularly, overseas, originated from a group of members of the Manly Lions Club. In 1972, following discussions with representatives of various nursing organisations, it was decided that such a fund, to be known as the Nurses Scholarship Foundation, be created. more »
