Accident journey and professional indemnity insurances
Because of the changes to the Workers Compensation legislation effective from June 16, 2012, the NSWNMA has obtained Accident Journey Insurance for financial members. This insurance took effect from 5:00pm on 18th September 2012.The Association also now provides Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) as part of your membership.

The New South Wales Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment Bill 2012, which came into effect on 16 June 2012, has effectively removed coverage for employees travelling to and from their place of employment, except in special circumstances. Because of this, the Association has obtained Accident Journey Insurance for financial members. more »

The Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW) provides that a registered health practitioner, eg. a nurse or midwife, cannot practice their profession unless appropriate professional indemnity insurance arrangements are in place. more »
